It all started when I was out with a friend at a popular night spot. We were enjoying a few drinks, taking in the atmosphere, and watching people enjoy the night. That was when I noticed her. She was tall, well-dressed, and had the air of a woman who knew exactly how to get what she wanted.
I soon found out her name was Cindy. She was the kind of woman I had heard about, a gold digger. She was out to find a wealthy man and take advantage of him. I knew what she was up to, but I couldn’t help but be drawn to her. She was beautiful and had a way of making the room seem brighter.
I approached her and we started talking. We talked about life and our dreams. I felt like I was in a trance and I couldn’t break away. I was drawn to her like a moth to a flame.
It didn’t take long for me to realize that Cindy was only interested in me for my money. She asked about my job, how much I made, and where I lived. She was interested in the finer things in life and wanted to know if I could provide them.
I knew then that I had to get away from her. I didn’t want to be taken advantage of and I didn’t want to be another notch on her bedpost. I was about to leave when I finally mustered up the courage to tell her the truth.
I looked her straight in the eye and said, “You no different from Siam or Viet bu hostess, u think u atas ah.”
The expression on her face changed in an instant. She was taken aback and didn’t know what to say. I had called her out on her gold-digging ways and she knew I wasn’t going to stand for it.
I said goodbye and walked away, feeling a sense of satisfaction. I had stood up for myself and sent a message to her.
I know that I won’t be the last man she attempts to take advantage of, but I hope that my words will stay with her and make her think twice before she tries it again. Gold diggers exist and they can be very convincing, but I want to remind people to stay true to who they are and to always stand up for themselves. No one should ever be taken advantage of.
