I 30m have been with my fiancée for 5 years. I got with my fiancée when her daughter was a few months old. My fiancée’s ex barely was a part of her life.
I’m the only father she knows. I love her like my own.
Our daughter recently had a daddy-daughter event at school and had asked me to come with her. I of course obliged, and we got a bunch of great pictures, and my fiancée had posted them on Facebook.
The next day my fiancée’s ex called her freaking out about how I took her to an event that was meant for him. I took the phone immediately and told him she had asked me, and not to call and yell at my fiancée. we argued some, he basically said I had no place to attend, and I replied with your a deadbeat anyways, so I don’t know why you care.
My fiancée has since gotten multiple insulting text messages from my exes sister(she has her number because she is involved with our daughter.)
Her ex has been doing the same, and even texted me on Facebook saying I had no place to call him that since I don’t even know him.
I was a little concerned that he was so angry, but I was also kind of proud of myself for standing up for my fiancée and our daughter. I was glad that she had asked me to go, and I was happy to be able to support her in this way.
This has caused issues now and drama, I’ve been the only father my daughter knows, and he started it.
In the end, the ex was still very angry, but I think he realized that he could not control what happened with his daughter, and had to accept that I was part of her life. I feel better knowing that I was able to protect my fiancée and daughter and that I handled the situation in a respectful and adult manner.
