MAN WHO ISSUES TRACKING DEVICES TO INCOMING TRAVELLERS ON SHN, 1 OF 24 NEW COVID-19 CASES

A 43-year-old Singaporean man who works at Changi Airport, where his job entails issuing an electronic monitoring device to incomming travellers on stay home notice, becomes 1 of the 24 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore on February 7.

The man works at Changi Airport Terminal 1 and 3 and was Singapore’s only community case.

MOH said that the man wears a surgical mask, face shield and gloves whenever he was on duties.

He was asymptomatic and his infection was only detected after a rostered routine testing on February 4; his results came back positive on the next day and he was subsequently taken to NCID.

Meanwhile, all the man’s close contacts have been isolated and placed in quarantine.
