According to a media release, a 36-year-old man was sentenced to 17 years of jail with 24 strokes of the cane after he was found guilty of sexually assaulting his girlfriend’s daughters. The assault lasted over a period of 6 years and the two victims were 8 and 14 years old when they were assaulted.
Court documents revealed that the man and the victim’s mum started dating back in 2010. They were both divorcees and they met each other through a friend. In 2014, the man moved in with the family into their one-room flat.
In 2012, the man once sexually assaulted the then 10-year-old victim by fingering her and putting his male private part into her mouth while she was asleep. Another time when they were alone at home, he proposed to play a game of blindfold tasting by dipping each other finger into food seasoning and let each other taste it. While the girl was blindfolded, he took the opportunity to insert his private part into her mouth again.
In 2014, the man targeted the youngest daughter of his girlfriend. It was reported that there was once when they were alone, the man touches the young girl breast and forced her to kiss his private part. He even grabs her by her hand and forced her to jerk him off.
The man’s actions were exposed after the girl told the school counsellor about what happened. The police were alerted by the school and the man was arrested.
