As 2021 approaches a large crowd was seen gathering at Clark Quay and prepared to celebrate.
19-year-old Shae Mika’il Farook got up to an elevated platform and started singing the theme song of SpongeBob Square Pants. After he started to sing, a crowd draws in and started singing with him.
Shae was fined $1,500 for breaching COVID-19 rules after pleading guilty to a charge under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020.
Background
About 1 hour before the New Year, Farook and his friends just finished dinner at Riverside Point and started to sing near Read Bridge.
While he was singing, his mask was down and a crowd.
The prosecuted initially asked for a fine of $2,000 stating his role in leading the crowd to sing and gather.
His defence lawyer argued that Farook was chain-smoking throughout and said that four others had received $1,500 fine so far.
