Soon Xian Feng, 21-years-old, was sentenced on 7 February to 18 months of probation, after pleading guilty to one count of harassment involving 2 victims.
He has to remain indoors from 10pm to 6am every day, with his parents being bonded for $5,000 to ensure his good behaviour.
He had stalked two residents from February to July in 2021, as well as leaving cigarette butts at their gate and throwing eggs on the floor outside their home.
The identities of the victims cannot be named due to a gag order protecting their identities.
He had also admitted to another charge of entering the flat of a third victim to steal money.
What happened?
Sometime in February, Soon left a package that contained a jar of cookies and two jerseys outside the victims’ home with a letter stating that he wanted to be friends.
The victims then returned the package to Soon’s father, which upset him and he started stalking them.
On 24 February, he removed some Chinese New Year decorations that were outside the victims’ home and continue his harassment between April and July.
He also took their footwear, doormat, and a parcel from outside their home and threw it down a rubbish chute.
Separately in an unrelated offense, he entered a flat at Clementi and stole $150 on 26 February 2020.
