Deputy Public Prosecutors Thiagesh Sukumaran and Jeremy Bin told the court that the mastermind of the robbery, Jegatheesh, met two other people in Geylang on August 13 last year to plan the robbery.

The next day, Veeramani, the driver of the getaway car, met Jegatheese in a car at a carpark near Block 521 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 at around 2.40pm.

Jegatheesh then went to Hock Cheong Jade and Jewellery Shop and committed the robbery by himself, filling the duffing bag with valuables worth about $120,000 and ran into Veeramani’s getaway car, fleeing the scene.

Veeramani then met Sharavindran later that day, who inspected the bag’s contents; he then contacted a man and asked him to arrage for someone to buy the jewellery.
