MAN WITH $2K SALARY, SPENDS $1.3K A MONTH ORDERING GRABFOOD TWICE A DAY

A netizen shared how he spends about $1.3k on Grabfood per month despite only earning $2,000 monthly, and asks if there is such a thing as “food delivery addiction”.

Here is what he said

“Is there such a thing as food delivery addiction? I need help and I think I am addicted to compulsively ordering Grabfood everyday.

For context, I work as an entry-level admin staff and my take home salary is $2k after CPF deduction, which isn’t much compared to the salaries of other office workers.

Anyway, I never used Grabfood, or any food delivery services before the pandemic and it only started during the circuit breaker years ago.

Every since I was introduced to Grabfood, the convenience of the food delivery service is too good and I find myself using it very frequently.

At first it was like maybe once a week or maybe twice a week, but as time went by, it started becoming a daily thing.

Fast forward to now, I am ordering Grabfood once in the morning for breakfast before I go to the office, then ordering Grabfood again at night for late dinner/early supper.

And on my days off, I sometimes order Grabfood for all three meals at home because it is just so convenient and I just have to sit and wait for my food to come.

It has gotten so bad that for the last 5 months, I have been spending about $1.2k to $1.3k on Grabfood, and I am really wondering if there is such a thing as “food delivery addiction”.

I can’t stop ordering Grabfood and blowing my money away and I really need help and I don’t know what to do and I am at my wits end.”
