He had asked a woman who was on a date with him to shoot a TikTok video at a carpark staircase but as he filmed her, he choked her to knock her out so that he could smell her feet.

He also lifted her shirt and wanted to touch her chest but changed his mind before the unconscious woman woke up.

Another charge of outrage of modesty was considered for his sentencing.

The identities of the student and the victim cannot be named due to a gag order protecting the identity of the victim.

What happened?

The student had booked a date with the woman online, who was 37-years-old at the time, in October 2020.

He then found the woman on Instagram and got in touch with her because he was interested in her but didn’t tell her that he had booked a date with her.

They then went on a date on 26 October and he told her that he wanted to record a video for TikTok and he brought her to a staircase landing on the fourth storey of carpark 4A at Changi Airport Terminal 4.

He made sure that there were no one at each floor and once they were there, he put his phone on a fire extinguisher cabinet and aimed the camera at them.

He then told the woman to face the wall and he began to wrap his arm around her neck, choking her with a martial arts move that he picked up.

The woman was choked as she struggled for about 15 seconds and trying unsuccessfully to break free before falling unconscious, and the guy then smelled her feet because he had a fetish for it.

He then put her body on the ground and lifted her shirt up to her belly button because he wanted to touch her chest as he was aroused but he stopped because he decided not to.

The woman then woke up and found herself resting on the lap of the man, and she then got up and gathered her things before running away.

She then ran towards a car and told the driver that someone was trying to kill her, calling the police as well.

The police contacted the student and he was then caught after he surrendered himself.

The woman suffered bruises and pain around her neck as a result, and suffered anxiety and panic attacks for months.
