MCCY INVESTIGATING “COUNT ON ME INDIA” FOR POTENTIAL COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT

The Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) is in the midst of investigating potential copyright infringements after being made aware of the infamous plagiarism of Singapore’s perennial NDP song, “Count On Me Singapore” into “Count On Me India”.

MCCY released a statement on Facebook to address the viral music videos circulating online:

The infamous plagiarised song copied the original song word for word and only changed the words “Singapore” to “India”.

A number of the “Count On Me India” videos have been taken down from YouTube after facing a severe and intense backlash from Singaporeans.
