A video has emerged on social media regarding a Mercedes vehicle who got into an accident on the PIE on 31 January 2022 at 1:30am.
The driver of the Mercedes vehicle appeared to have been speeding in the video and when approaching a bend lost control of the vehicle resulting in an accident.
It had hit the bend on the back of the vehicle after losing control, resulting in the vehicle flipping over in the air and caught fire after it landed on the road.
Photos of the aftermath of the incident seen on social media shows a few traffic police vehicles as well as the EMAS rescue vehicle on the scene.
Lane 1 on both sides of the expressway also appears to be closed.
The road divider railing also looks to be badly damaged.
Firemen from the Singapore Civil Defence Force were also seen putting out the flames from the vehicle on scene.
It is unknown if anyone was injured or had lost their lives but according to a netizen’s comment who said that there was no ‘blue tent’ seen in the photos, the people in the Mercedes should be still alive.
‘Blue Tent’ typically refers to the Police blue tent which is used to house the body of the deceased on scene before moving it to the hospital for autopsy.
