MOM and MTI said in a press release that from 3 January onwards, the capacity for work-related events (WREs) will be raised to 1,000 persons.
At the moment, WREs are allowed but are capped at 50 pax.
As of 3 January, WREs of between 51 to 1,000 participants will require participants to be masked on at all times and there should be no consumption of meals or beverages.
The participants are also required to be seated or standing in a fixed position and remain static, and entry is subject to vaccination differentiated safe management measures.
The participants for these events are also required to observe a 1-meter safe distancing between each other inside zones of up to 100 persons; and 2-meters in between the zones.
The organizers are also required to inform the authorities of the larger WREs through the submission of an online form, which will also be used to apply for approval to hold MICE events.
