Motorcyclist Flung Into Air After Crashing Into Turning Car At Hougang Junction

A dramatic traffic accident in Hougang left a motorcyclist hospitalised after he allegedly ran a red light and crashed into a turning car at a busy junction.

The incident, which was captured on dashcam footage and later uploaded online, quickly gained attention across social media due to the violent impact of the collision.

According to footage circulating online, the accident took place at the junction of Upper Serangoon Road and Hougang Avenue 7 on Wednesday evening.

The video showed a car making a right turn at the junction while the traffic lights appeared to be in the driver’s favour.

Just seconds later, a motorcycle believed to be registered in Malaysia was seen speeding towards the junction from the opposite direction.

The rider appeared unable to stop in time before slamming directly into the side of the turning vehicle.

Impact Sends Rider Somersaulting Through Air

The force of the crash sent the motorcyclist flying into the air before he landed heavily on the road.

Debris from both the motorcycle and the car could be seen scattered across multiple lanes following the collision.

The rider was later seen writhing in pain on the ground as nearby motorists and passers-by rushed over to assist.

The female driver of the car also exited her vehicle to check on the injured rider before moving her car away from the middle of the junction to avoid obstructing traffic.

Several bystanders were spotted calling for emergency assistance while others attempted to comfort the injured motorcyclist as they waited for paramedics to arrive.

SCDF Conveyed Rider To Hospital

Singapore Civil Defence Force officers later arrived at the scene and attended to the injured rider before conveying him to Changi General Hospital.

Authorities confirmed that the motorcyclist was conscious when taken to the hospital.

Police investigations into the accident are currently ongoing.

Road safety experts frequently warn that junctions remain one of the most dangerous areas for motorists, especially when vehicles attempt to beat traffic lights or travel at excessive speeds.
