MOTORCYCLIST HIT TAXI’S SIDE MIRROR, WHICH FELL OFF, AND RIDES AWAY

A video emerged online showing a hit-and-run accident that happened along the AYE between a motorcycle and a taxi.

The traffic was seen slowing down on the road in the video, as the motorcyclist rode along the cars towards the front.

He then knocked into the stopped taxi, hitting the side mirror of the car, resulting in the mirror’s cover falling off onto the road.

The motorcyclist then stopped momentarily to look at the damage he’d caused, before nonchalantly riding away from the scene.

The incident happened on 3 December at around 6.33pm, along the AYE.

Hit-and-run

It is a punishable offence to leave the scene of an accident, which is considered a hit-and-run – upon conviction, first-time offenders face a fine of up to $3,000 or a jail term of up to 12 months.
