Malaysia has lifted Covid restrictions such as the wearing of masks outdoors and the use of tracing apps to enter establishments in the country.
However, masks will still be required for persons who are indoors and/or riding on the country’s public transport.
The ministry of health of Malaysia is still encouraging the wearing of masks outdoors though, although not mandatory, because it helps to stem the spread of the virus.
Malaysia’s minister of health Khairy Jamaluddin, said during a press conference that those who are unwell are advised to wear a mask regardless of whether they are indoors or outdoors.
The country will also be getting rid of the mandatory Covid tests for all incoming travelers into Malaysia who are fully vaccinated, with effect from 1 May.
