Malaysian Driver Drags Female Passenger Out of Car After InDrive App Alerts Him of Her Complaint Mid-Ride

A shocking incident has surfaced in Malaysia, where a female passenger was dragged out of a car by an InDrive driver after she reported him for his aggressive behavior through the app’s support chat.

The incident began when the passenger, Maya, requested the driver to take a non-toll route. Despite her polite tone, the driver lost his temper and began scolding her. He then turned up the music volume to an extremely high level, causing Maya to feel anxious and threatened.

Feeling unsafe, Maya reported the incident through the InDrive support chat. However, immediately after submitting her report, the driver received a notification about it, which further enraged him. He abruptly stopped the car in the middle of the highway, ended the ride, and demanded that Maya get out.

When Maya refused, the driver got out of the car and threw a metal flask at her face. He then grabbed her arms and legs and forcibly pulled her out of the car, leaving her bleeding, crying, and having a panic attack on the highway.

Fortunately, a kind stranger stopped to offer help and drove Maya to the nearest police station, where she filed a report against the driver. The driver has since been arrested and fined RM2,000.

Maya has expressed concerns about the InDrive support chat system, stating that it is not reliable and trustworthy. She believes that the app should not have notified the driver about her complaint before the ride ended, and that they should have acted immediately when the driver ended the trip in the middle of the highway.

InDrive has responded to the incident, stating that they are deeply concerned about the reported behavior and will take a closer look at it. They have also addressed that they are putting in efforts to make their app better and safer.

This incident raises concerns about the safety of e-hailing services and the importance of having a reliable and trustworthy support system in place to protect passengers
