M’SIAN LORRY CAUGHT SMUGGLING CHEWING TOBACCO INTO S’PORE @ TUAS

An attempt to smuggling 7,500 satchets of chewing tobacco into Singapore was foiled by ICA officers at Tuas Checkpoint on 4 August.

A Malaysia registered lorry was trying to smuggle the good into Singapore when ICA officers directed the lorry for further checks.

They then uncovered chewing tobacco being hidden inside black rubbish bags, hidden in the cabin of the lorry, covered with a blanket.

The case has since been referred to the HSA for further investigations.
