According to Straits Times, Chai was at Istana when he sent threatening messages via Facebook Messenger to Prime Minster Lee Hsien Loong on Nov 7.
He has been sent to the Institute of Mental Health for medical assessment and will appear in court on December 9.

Under the Protection from Harassment Act (POHA), a person who insults another person with the intention to cause harassment, alarm or distress is guilty of an offence.
Persons found guilty faces a fine of up to $5,000 and/or a jail term of up to 6 months; for repeat offenders, the maximum penalties will be doubled.
