Johor police chief, Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, said that the inspector was arrested at the Johor Police Contingent Headquarters on 16 March.

Ayob said that the actual value of the drugs is still being investigated, although RM1,200 (or SGD$390) and a Perodua Alza car were seized during the arrest.

He added:

“The officer is suspected of colluding with a drug syndicate that caters for the neighbouring country’s market. Further investigations revealed that the officer resold drugs seized by the police to the drug syndicate for personal gain.”
