My seatmate at work claims $1,000+ OT pay every month for “late night crunching”, but he’s actually sneaking out to date the married manager from another department.

Workplace drama post, but I need to share this because the sheer audacity of these two corporate parasites is blowing my mind.

I work in an MNC office at Raffles Place. My teammate “Dave” (29M) is known in our team as the “ultimate OT warrior”. Every single day, around 6:30pm when everyone packs up to leave, Dave will sigh dramatically, stretch his arms, and say: “Sigh, another late night for me. So much workload, management really squeezing us.”

Our boss thinks Dave is a dedicated hero. Dave claims 3 to 4 hours of Overtime (OT) pay EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, pocketing an extra $1k-$1.5k allowance monthly.

Here’s the thing: I often leave my laptop charger at my desk, so occasionally I have to pop back into the office around 8:30pm/9pm to grab it.

The past three times I went back late, Dave was nowhere to be seen at his desk. His laptop was left open with a dummy “mouse jiggler” app running to keep his Teams status green.

Where was Dave?

Two weeks ago at 9 PM, I went down to the basement carpark to take a Grab home.

I saw Dave’s car parked in a dark corner. Through the windscreen, I saw Dave passionately making out with “Karen” (36F), the Senior Operations Manager from the adjacent cubicle block!

Karen is VERY visibly married. Her desktop wallpaper is literally her family photo with her husband and two young primary school kids! Her husband even comes to office during Christmas parties to bring her flowers!

They have been using the office “late night OT” cover story to conduct their full-blown affair right under everyone’s noses!

How their system works:

  1. Both claim OT until 10 PM.
  2. Put mouse jigglers on their laptops.
  3. Walk down to carpark / nearby boutique hotel near Telok Ayer for 2 hours.
  4. Come back up at 9:55 PM, scan out of office turnstiles to create fake HR timestamp records.
  5. Claim OT allowance + late-night taxi claims from company!

They are literally making the company pay for their affair hotel rooms and taxi rides!

Last week, our boss announced that due to “budget constraints caused by high department OT claims”, our team’s annual performance bonus pool will be cut by 20%.

DAVE IS LITERALLY STEALING OUR BONUS POOL TO FUND HIS AFFAIR WITH A MARRIED WOMAN!

I have photos of his unattended laptop with the jiggler, carpark photos, and matched HR timestamp discrepancies. Should I drop an anonymous tip to HR and Ethics Hotline, or will this blow up in my face?
