Nabei CB, plan trip for 3 whole months then the main person who jio-ed us last minute pangseik. Sibei buay tahan

Three months ago, this guy—let’s call him Kevin—sent a text in our main group chat: “Eh guys, we haven’t travelled together for damn long liao. Let’s go for a group trip!” He was the most enthusiastic one, mind you. Pushing for dates, creating Notion boards, spamming TikTok links of aesthetic cafes, and constantly talking about how we all desperately needed a break from the SG corporate grind.

Because of him, four of us spent the last 90 days bending over backwards to make this whole thing work. We cleared our annual leave, applied block leave with HR, rejected other personal plans, and constantly aligned our schedules just to accommodate Kevin’s exact “preferred dates” because he kept saying his work schedule was super tight. Every single detail, from Airbnb locations to the daily itinerary, we cross-checked with him to make sure he was happy with it.

Fast forward to last night. Exactly 36 hours before our flight to Changi Airport.

Out of nowhere, Kevin drops a casual voice note in the GC: “Eh guys, super sorry ah… suddenly my side got last minute urgent project coming up, I think I cannot make it for the trip. You guys go ahead and enjoy without me okay! Really so sorry!”

NABEI CHEEBYE. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

You are the mastermind who jio-ed everyone into this in the first place! We literally shifted our entire timeline and holiday plans around your schedule! Now last minute you just drop one low-effort voice note like it’s no big deal? No effort to try and negotiate with your boss, no proper deep apology, just a standard template exit text like you are unsubscribing from a Telegram channel.

Now the rest of us are left holding the bag. The Airbnb cost per person instantly jumped up because we have to split by three instead of four. The car rental rate per head became more expensive. Not to mention the entire vibe is completely ruined before we even step foot into T3. Every time we open the shared Google Sheet, we are reminded that half the places on it were stuff he insisted on adding!

The absolute lack of respect for other people’s time, effort, and money is mind-boggling. Pattern more than badminton, talk until like high-class event planner, but when time comes to show up, drop ball instantly. Pangseik king of the year.

Honestly, after we come back from this trip, I am seriously considering muting this guy forever. Have you all ever dealt with a friend like this? How to even enjoy the holiday now without feeling sibei dulan the whole time?
