Tragic Incident at National Day Parade Rehearsal

A participant in the National Day Parade (NDP) has tragically passed away after collapsing during a rehearsal at the Padang on Saturday, June 21. The individual, a 47-year-old man representing the OneChangi contingent for the parade and ceremony segment, collapsed at approximately 11:23 AM, as reported by the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) and Changi Airport Group (CAG) in a joint media release.

Immediate Medical Response

According to AsiaOne, Following the collapse, the participant was swiftly evacuated to the on-site medical post, arriving at 11:26 AM. There, he received immediate attention from the duty medical officer, who began administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) without delay. Despite these efforts, the participant remained unresponsive.

At 11:42 AM, he was transferred to a Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) ambulance for transport to the hospital, with resuscitation efforts continuing during the journey. The ambulance arrived at Singapore General Hospital at 11:57 AM, where the man was pronounced dead at 12:19 PM.

In light of this unfortunate event, Changi Airport Group and the NDP 2025 Executive Committee have reached out to the family of the deceased, offering their full support during this challenging time. “We extend our deepest condolences to the family,” stated the joint statement, reflecting the sentiments of the organisations involved.
