The National Council of Problem Gambling (NCPG) Singapore is holding an ongoing contest on their Facebook page for the most creative answers to stop ‘Hock Seng’ from going to the casino.
The contest, which started on 8 February 2022 and will be ending on 14 February 2022 at 2359 hours depicts a scenario where ‘Hock Seng’, a gambler, wants to visit the casinos to start of the Lunar Year of the Tiger.
The contest challenges potential contestants to convince Hock Seng not to go.
Contestants who wishes to participate need to leave their most creative answers in the comments section in the post itself and NCPG will pick the three most creative answers to win $50 Grab vouchers.
At the time of writing, the comments section has already seen almost 241 comments and the post has been shared 91 times.
We have looked through the comments and have decided to pick out some comments that our SG Uncensored writers think are worthy for a mention.

First up, we have the environmental friendly, save the earth contestants:
“Hey Hock Seng, come join me to this meaningful event to help clean up the Changi beach of all the waste and debris that is causing harm to our environment. Use your extra money to donate to causes to save our animals and environment, every dollar donated can help save the Tigers in the wild too! Once you find something meaningful in life, there is hope and it goes a long way to create a positive lifestyle”
Then, we have the superstitious ones who says must check what the Zodiac Forecast says first:
“If you think you can Huat in the casino, check your Zodiac Forecast for 2022 first and think twice! If you think you can have some fun/luck at the casino at the start of the Year of the Tiger, think twice.
The casino always has the better odds of winning and making money from gamblers who keep coming back. They love these kinds of gamblers. They reward you with some freebies like drinks, make you gamble with chips instead of real money so you will spend more and an environment that makes you feel like partying so you will not leave and continue to gamble and lose more money. That is on top of the $150 “angbao money” (entry fee) you have to pay to get into the casino. Why make yourself and family unhappy losing at least $150 at the start of the Year of Tiger?
