I would like to report a very insensitive and verbally rude airport security staff by Cisco stationed at the security check just before immigration.
Mr Foo Chuin Yang was stationed to check passengers passport and boarding passes. I had done a kiosk check in and baggage drop and during the bag drop my documents were checked and I was given a stamp. When I approached him, he sent me back to do a document check and I said I have a stamp already. He immediately got angry and said I need a document check. I said to him he needn’t be rude and could be more courteous to which he replied – I told you twice already. He then said you don’t know where is it? I’ll bring you there. He then marched me to a different counter for document check and asked the counter staff if I have been there.
This whole incident was witnessed by CAG Duty Manager and Jetstar staff who agreed that he was not only unprofessional but also rude, insensitive and curt. There was no need to get angry and he could explain that the stamp I received initially was for baggage drop only. He also needn’t march me to the document check counter and berated at me – to which even your other and airline staff as bystanders agreed was rude. Even the CAG Duty Manager advised me to inform the infraction at the Information Counter inside the transit hall.
Such an unbecoming behavior of the staff is truly unacceptable in a world class airport like Changi. We do not want to follow the likes and complaints of other airports security officers who are ill-behaved and unprofessional. Plenty of complaints and stories have been written about these airport security staff who act unprofessionally.
I hope this staff will be disciplined accordingly because such a behaviour is unacceptable and truly have no place in Changi Airport. I consider myself a seasoned traveler through Changi, flying at least once a fortnight through this airport and I found this incident not just offensive but truly shocking.
