I hate how everything revolves around money. Like literally everything. I have always love treating and putting my families needs before mine (this is when i am doing part time jobs and have no commitments). Like i would not mind spending half of my salary on them just to make them happy because it feels nice seeing them smile…but now ( with a full time job that pays 1.6k as basic) i just feel like i can’t do that anymore.
Everything around is just too expensive and my pay is not increasing at the same rate as everything else. Now with every bills i have to pay and savings that i need to put aside i can’t afford to be like how i use to.
Its getting tiring everyday. I go to work and work my a$$ of and by the end of the month i get my salary which would be gone by the next day because i finish paying everything i need to pay for the month. I am tired and worried that in the future i cant cope with how much expensive things are getting and i would fall behind. I feel bad that i cant afford nice things for my family again.
I always thought that i shld find a higher paying job but i realised that the more my pay is theres more things i have to commit to. Haiyaa tired lah now i have to worry about if i can afford buying my own house or else i just be homeless.
To my family: I am sorry if i am being petty to you guys about money now but i hope u all can understand my situation. I promise to work damn hard to make u guys happy.

- Good attitude. Cost of living increases suck but nothing much we can do about that. If you want more than your current amount, you either have to work harder, or increase the value of your time. Try going for Skillsfuture courses, upskill, and get a higher paying job that doesn’t need you to work longer hours or harder. Work smart not just hard.
- To how many families you are trying to make them happy? 1.6K is about the same salary I get before deducting my CPF. So I just put my family first. Spending are basically for the food and utilities. Once in a while then go for fastfood or sushi. See ahead which month you may need to spend more like birthdays and insurance, then try to save more during other months. You can do it. When you conrirbute enough in your CPF, the hard days won’t be forever
- Yup. Focus on getting money first, then you can make them happy!
