A 26-year-old woman was killed following an accident involving a minibus and two motorcycles along the Tampines Expressway (TPE).
She was riding pillion on one of the motorcycles at the time of the accident, which took place on the morning of 20 February along TPE.
Graphic images circulating on social media of the aftermath of the accident showed a person under the minibus lying in a pool of blood.
The back of the minibus was also seen to have been significantly damaged with a motorcycle fallen on the ground behind it.
The Singapore Police Force confirmed that they were alerted to an accident involving a minibus and two motorcycles alone TPE, heading towards the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) at 7.59am.
A 29-year-old male motorcyclist was sent to the hospital conscious while his 26-year-old female pillion rider was sent to the hospital unconscious, where she later succumbed to her injuries and died.
The 54-year-old male driver of the minibus was arrested for careless driving causing death, while the other motorcyclist, a 31-year-old male is also assisting with investigations.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF0 said that they were conveyed to the Changi General Hospital.
At the time of writing, police investigations are ongoing.
