Some of them have even claimed that the heat was so hot that it even emanated through their phone cases.

According to a report from 9to5Mac, some users have even utilised thermal imaging cameras to gauge the temperatures of the phones, and recorded heat signatures of almost 46 degrees celsius.

Several Apple users have also shared about their problems on the Apple discussions threads, alleging that the device was even heating when they are not even using it.

Netizens’ complaints online

  1. Hi everyone. I’ve recently purchased the new iPhone 15 pro max and it is heating up even when I’m not using it.
I was wondering if anyone else is having this issue or if it maybe a setting that is causing it that I can turn off?
    Any advice is appreciated. 🙂
  2. My iPhone 15 Pro Max is almost too hot to touch while fast charging right now. I thought people were exaggerating, but no, this isn’t great.
Interestingly if I’m holding it, the left side rail and a little of the back on the left side is what is the hottest by far… lines up perfectly with the logic board.
Past 70% battery percentage, it seems to have cooled down significantly (still hot but comfortable in the hand). 25-60% was the worst by far.
  3. I got the iPhone 15 pro as well and it’s overheating when I’m on a phone call for like 8-10 minutes.
  4. I just got the IPhone 15 Pro today and it’s so hot i can’t even hold it for very long! Hope they resolve this.
  5. This has been happening to me too and I just got the phone. I realized quickly that it was hotter than my previous phone.
  6. My 15 Pro (not Max) is sitting at pretty much normal room temperature when not in use, but I just spent about 10 minutes watching streaming video over wifi with the screen at about 30% brightness (in a room with a temperature of 69 degrees fahrenheit, so it’s not an ambient temperature issue either) – the phone got hot enough that it was uncomfortable to hold, and the battery dropped by about 15% in that time (not exactly the “up to 23 hours” of video playback time that Apple claims there…).
