Lawrence Wong, the co-chair of the multi-ministry taskforce, warned that the increasing number of F&B outlets caught flouting the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) Act 2020, could hinder Singapore’s progression to reopening.
He said that it would be “unfair” for the majority who are following the rules.
Therefore, the enforcement agencies will be stepping up theier checks and enforcement actions.
20 F&B outlets have been suspended for failing to maintain safe management measures since the start of phase 2.
They said that no warnings will be given if one is caught flouting the rules, even for first timers.
Depending on the severiy of the offences, you could be fined, suspended (for F&B outlets), or even jailed up to 6 months.
