An old man had reportedly fallen down at the entrance of Chinatown MRT station and bled from his head, but when kind samaritans tried to help him, he scolded them.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, the incident happened on Thursday (3 February) at about 12.50pm, at the stairs of Chinatown MRT station, exit C.
The 70-year-old man had slipped and fallen down while traversing down the stairs, resulting in him bleeding from his face.
Unsteady
A passerby who witnessed the incident, told the Chinese paper that the old man was walking unsteadily down the stairs at the time, when he suddenly fell down and hit his face on the railing, resulting in the bleeding.
There were other passers-by around who tried to help the stricken old man, asking him if he needed help. One of the men wearing red called for an ambulance and opened an umbrella to shield the old man from the sun. Another kind samaritan also took out some tissue to help the old man wipe away the blood.
Scolded the kind samaritans
However, according to the witness, the old man then started shouting and scolding them, asking “why are you helping me?!” thrice.
The old man then pushed away the guy in red and refused everyone’s help, and about 5 minutes later when the ambulance arrived, he refused to be conveyed to the hospital. He even stood up and walked away towards the bus stop
