He had pleaded guilt to a charge of drink driving for his offence that occurred on 23 January earlier this year.

The court heard on Thursday that Tupaz had lost control of his motorcycle on that day at about 11pm, skidding on the road along Ophir Road.

A traffic police officer was activated to the accident site and noticed that when he was questioning Tupaz, he reeked of alcohol.

A breathalyser test was then conducted on the radio DJ and he was then arrested after failing the test, with the test showing that Tupaz had about 141mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood in his system.

The legal limit for driving is 80mg per 100ml, with Tupaz exceeding it by more than 60mg.

Had been drinking at a bar

Police investigations later revealed that Tupaz had been at a bar on that day at about 1.15am, and drank two pints of lager beer before he stopped at about 2.30pm.

He then stayed at the bar until about 10,45pm, before leaving, and the aforementioned drink-driving incident then happened.
