A video emerged online showing a car beating a red light along Simei Avenue, outside the Changi General Hospital.
The incident happened on 14 February at about 2.54pm and was captured on the dashcam of a car that was behind the offending vehicle.
The driver was seen beating the red light at the traffic stop, and it was then followed by another 3 drivers who “monkey see monkey do” and beat the red light along with him.
Potential penalties
It is an offence to beat a red light in Singapore.
Drivers found guilty of failing to conform to traffic light signals face a composition fine of $400 for light vehicles and $500 for heavy vehicles.
They also face 12 demerit points and if a driver accumulates 24 or more demerit points within 24 months, their license will be suspended.
