PARTI LIYANI FIGHTS BACK. FILES DISCIPLINARY PROCEEDINGS AGAINST PROSECUTORS

The former domestic helper of businessman Liew Mun Leong, Ms Parti Liyani, has recently filed court action to seek disciplinary proceedings against the prosecutors in her case after being acquitted of stealing $34,000 worth of items from the former Changi Airport Group Chairman Liew.

The two public prosecutors who were listed in her case were Mr Tan Wee Hao and Ms Tan Yanying. If due cause is shown with proof that the legal service officer is guilty of misconduct befitting their post as an advocate and solicitor, they could be punished.

The punishment could lead to individuals being struck of the roll or a fine of up to $20,000.
