Police Arrest Trio Suspected of Involvement in Vice Activities

Authorities have apprehended a 25-year-old man along with two 26-year-old women in connection with suspected vice-related operations. The arrests took place on March 7, 2025, following coordinated raids executed by the Specialised Crime Branch of the Criminal Investigation Department.

During the operation, law enforcement officials seized over $5,500 in cash, along with various items associated with vice activities. The investigation suggests that the man was allegedly running an online vice syndicate that involved the two women, who are also facing legal scrutiny under the Women’s Charter of 1961.

The man is set to face charges in court on March 8, 2025, under Section 146(1) of the Women’s Charter 1961. Meanwhile, investigations into the roles of the two women are still ongoing, as authorities work to gather more evidence regarding their involvement.

The police have reiterated their commitment to combating vice-related crimes, emphasizing that stringent enforcement measures will be taken against individuals engaged in organized vice activities. Under the provisions of the Women’s Charter 1961, individuals who knowingly benefit from the earnings of another person’s prostitution can face severe penalties. Convictions can lead to imprisonment for up to seven years and fines reaching S$100,000.

Additionally, those who utilize remote communication services to facilitate or offer sexual services in Singapore may also face significant legal repercussions, including fines of up to S$100,000 or imprisonment for a maximum of five years, or both. Furthermore, individuals who manage or assist in the operation of places associated with such activities could be sentenced to up to five years in prison and face similar financial penalties.
