On January 23, 2025, authorities were notified of a disturbing incident involving a male passenger aboard a flight heading to Singapore. Reports indicate that the individual allegedly engaged in indecent exposure directed at a female cabin crew member during the journey.
According to the investigation, the man, while seated, reportedly unzipped his trousers and displayed his genitals, subsequently covering himself with a blanket. In a troubling turn of events, he then positioned his mobile phone to record the act. When a female crew member approached to serve him a meal, he is said to have removed the blanket, exposing himself in full view of her. The crew member, understandably alarmed, quickly departed from the area and informed her supervisor about the incident.
Upon the aircraft’s arrival at Changi Airport, law enforcement officials from the Airport Police Division apprehended the man. His mobile device was confiscated as part of the ongoing investigation into the matter.
The individual is scheduled to face charges in court on March 12, 2025, under Section 377BF of the Penal Code 1871, in conjunction with Section 3 (1) of the Tokyo Convention Act 1971. If convicted, he could face a maximum penalty of one year in prison, a fine, or both.
The police have reiterated their commitment to addressing sexual offenses, emphasizing that acts of indecency that cause alarm, distress, or harassment to others—whether in transit or in public spaces—will be met with serious legal consequences. Authorities are determined to uphold the law and ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers and crew members aboard flights.
