PRC WHO ATTACKED BUSES AFTER DRINKING, JAILED 2 WEEKS

32-year-old Chinese national Zhu Honglu, was sentenced to 2 weeks imprisonment for an act of mischief with a second charge of public annoyance while drunk being considered during his sentencing.

He had attacked two buses at a bus depot in Woodlands while drunk, causing $6,200 in damages as a result.

What happened?

He had drunk 7 cans of Heineken beers at his home before heading down to a bus depot at Woodlands Industrial park.

At around 1.30 am on 22 November 2020, Zhu stood in the middle of the road outside Woodlands Depot and ran towards a bus turning in, shouting at it.

The driver then stopped the bus and Zhu pulled apart the windshield wiper and knocked on the windscreen.

He also tried to open the bus doors, but without success.

He then left but 20 minutes later he returned and attacked a second bus.

Damaged 2nd bus

He shouted at the driver of the second bus and pulled apart the side mirror on his side.

He then used it to hit the windscreen, scratching it, before kicking the door of the bus to open it, but failed.

he then pulled apart the rubber seal of the bus door before an SMRT staff member called the police.
