Due to the recent weather condition, flash floods could be seen across the island. Recently, a video was recently sent to Dr Chee Soon Juan by a resident of Bukit Batok showing rainwater splashing out from the drain onto the pavement at a residential area.
In response, Dr Chee Soon Juan has written to the respective town council to address the problem.
From the video shared by Dr Chee, the rainwater doesn’t seem to flow in a steady stream. Instead, it was seen gushing down violently onto the pavement causing a flood. Hopefully, the respective town council can look into the issue before anyone gets hurt from the slippery pavement.
Dr Chee post:
“A resident sent me this video of inadequate drainage at Blk 122, Bukit Batok. I have informed JRTC of the situation and urged it to take prompt action. With recent torrential rains and more thunderstorms expected during the year-end monsoons, the TC needs to act quickly before the situation worsens and someone gets hurt.”
