
Former nurse Sa’adiah Jamari, 38, is claiming trial on charges of poisoning two babies aged 5 and 11-month-old child in 2016 in 2 separate cases that were in her care while she was a baby sitter.
It was reported that traces of drugs found in the babies body systems were also found in her possesion but she denied administering the drugs to the infants.
The babies parents found that things were amiss when the infants were said to be in a state of drowsiness and traces of drugs were found in the infants.
The former nurse had acknowledged that she had such medicaction in her possesion that were sleeping pills, antihistamines, medication for anxiety and other pills.
THe drugs found in her home includes Alprazolam, medication for anxiety also known as Xanax; chlorpheniramine, an antihistamine; Diazepam for anxiety, also known as Valium; and Zolpidem, a sedative.
She had repeatedly claimed “No” when asked by her lawyer if she had administered the drugs to the infants.
A scrapbook that she had compiled was shown in court with the babies and her own children.
If found guilty, she cannot be caned as laws do not allow this to be administered to women, but she could be jailed for up to 10 years and fined if found guilty of administering poison with the intent to cause hurt.
