A restaurant at Textile Centre, Bukhara Biriyani Restaurant, is giving away 100 packets of free biriyani each week to the needy until the end of the year.
They said that the initiative was to help the vulnerable as well as those who have been impacted by the pandemic.
The giveaway will be held from 10 December to 31 December, from 11am to 2pm every Friday.
Bukhara Biriyani Restaurant said that the free packets of biriyani will be served on a first come first serve basis via takeaways.
They must be collected in person and each person is entitled to only one packet while stocks last.
Mohamed Arif, the restaurant manager, said that while they may be an Indian Muslim restaurant, the festive period is a timely reminder for them to help those who are in need.
He added that everyone is eligible to collect the food regardless of their race or religion.
Bukhara Biriyani Restaurant is located at Textile Centre, at 200 Jalan Sultan #01-05, Singapore 199 018 – they operate daily from 7am to 2am.
