The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) recently conducted a series of raids this week which ended up in the arrest of 63 suspects including a 17 year old male teenager.
The three day island wide drug raid took place between 8 December 2021 to 10 December 2021.
The total haul seized by the authorities in the three day operations had an estimated street value of about $70,500 and included drugs like heroin, ice, cannabis and ketamine.
Raid at Ang Mo Kio
On 8 December 2021, a raid was conducted near Ang Mo Kio Street 22 where two suspects both male, aged 59 and 61 were arrested.
The 59 year old man was arrested for suspected drug trafficking offences while the 61 year old man was arrested for suspected drug abuse.
12 packets and 107 straws which contained about 195 grams of heroin were discovered and seized after the area was search.
Other items seized included instruments related for drug usage and consumption.
Raid at Balestier
Raids took place at Balestier on 8 December 2021 as well resulting in the arrest of four suspects, three men aged 24, 26 and 27 and a woman aged 23.
The 27 year old man together with the 23 year old woman were caught in a hotel room together.
Items discovered and seized by CNB when they were caught in the room included 11 packets of approximately 54 grams of Ice, 13 blocks and four packets of approximately 700 grams of Cannabis, one LSD stamp, various drug instruments for consumption and usage as well as $8,000 cash.
The remaining two men were caught in the same hotel in a later related operation.
Items discovered and seized from the 26 year old man included 13 packets of approximately 149 grams of Ice, 34 grams of Cannabis and various drug instruments for consumption and usage as well as $5,841 in cash.
The men were also escorted to the carpark by CNB officers for a search on their vehicles where a further seven packets of approximately 53 grams of ice and various drug instruments for consumption and usage were discovered and seized from the 24 year old man.
Raids at Clementi, Hougang, Punggol
Raids were also conducted in housing estates like Clementi, Hougang and Punggol as part of the operations.
Details of the raids in these places were however not given by CNB.
The CNB said that investigations are still ongoing on the suspects who were arrested in this operation to determine the extent of their involvement in these drug related activities.
