A Singaporean girl recently shared her experience as her boyfriend likes to rent the BlueSG car when travelling in Singapore. She stated on how she felt ashamed when she’s with him especially when other people on the road looks into their car.
Here is the full story.
Ever since covid, my bf and I have tried to minimise taking the public transport when going out for short dates to places that isn’t accessible by walking from our houses.
However, my bf and his family don’t own a car, so what we have done is to use the BlueSG car rental thing. Although I did not voice out, I can’t help but feel ashamed whenever people look into our car at traffic lights and when we come out of the car in carparks. My bf is comfortable with it though.
To clarify, I have no issues with him not having a car. But I feel like if we can’t afford then just take a grab or something, at least people won’t know we don’t have a car. Renting a car just outrightly shows people that we don’t have a car and I feel like it’s kind of loser to try so hard to find ways to want to drive.
Honestly, is it bad of me to feel this way and should I suggest to my bf that we should stop using this car rental?
