Sg singles wondering why nobody wants them… hanging out with losers will make you one and open your banking app, please.

Every single day on r/singapore or r/SGExams, I see the same pathetic, whiny sob stories. “Why am I 28 and still single?” “Why Singaporean girls so superficial?” “Why guys only look at face?”

Bro, wake up landscape. It’s not your face, and it’s not your height. It’s because you are actively choosing to surround yourself with a absolute circus of losers, and guess what? You’ve become the ringleader. You spend every weekend hanging out with friends who have zero drive, zero savings, and nothing but bad habits. Clubbing every week, buying $15 craft beers you can’t afford, ordering GrabFood three times a day, and chain-smoking away your future.

Let’s play a game: imagine someone exactly like you approaches you. Same empty bank account, same complaints about the government, same total lack of ambition, same mountain of credit card debt. Would you date yourself? Hell no. You’d swipe left so fast your screen would crack.

You sit there thinking, “I’m a nice guy/girl, I didn’t do anything wrong what!”

Excuse me, your wallet, your POSB account, your non-existent CPF, and your zero assets are literally shouting the truth. Stop comforting yourself by calling people “gold diggers” just because they reject you. It’s not gold digging when people want stability. It’s called looking for a working adult with basic decency.

In Singapore, the cost of living is no joke. Nobody is asking you to own a G-Wagon or a Sentosa Cove penthouse by 30. But if you are hitting your late 20s or 30s and you can’t even afford a decent meal without looking at your bank balance, or you have zero savings for a BTO downpayment because you spent it all on useless things, that is a massive red flag.

Having no financial literacy and zero drive isn’t a personality trait—it’s financial suicide. If you don’t even have the basic discipline to manage your own life and your own money, don’t expect someone else to come in and tolerate your mess. Fix your lifestyle, change your friend group, and start acting like an adult first.

Am I spitting facts, or am I just being too harsh?
