SHAMELESS CYCLISTS SEEN OPENLY CYCLING IN THE MIDDLE OF EXPRESSWAY

A video emerged online showing a couple of cyclists openly riding in the middle of the West Coast Highway, without a regard for the law.

They were seen riding in front of one another and hogging the middle lane, with cars breezing past them.

Road Traffic Rules

Under Rule 3 of the Road Traffic (Expressway – Excluded Vehicles) Rules 2010, cyclists are not allowed to ride their bicycles on expressways, this also includes Power Assisted Bicycles.

Persons found guilty of riding on expressways face a fine of up to $2,000 or a jail term of up to 6 months.
