A video emerged online showing a few airplanes swerving while landing on the runway at London’s Heathrow Airport during Storm Eunice.
The video was taken by a British man, Jerry Dyer, as he narrated the entire event and shouted encouragement at the planes to land safely.
A Singapore Airlines flight, SQ306, was also captured in the video with the Boeing 777’s tail swinging out during the landing.
The plane had aborted an earlier attempt to land because the storm had made the conditions rather unsafe for landing, although it isn’t confirmed.
The SIA flight eventually made it, although the same can’t be said for several other planes, who had to divert after failing to land despite repeated attempts.
Dyer spoke to BBC Radio 2 and said:
“Oh my god, I gotta be honest with you man, when you’re sitting on an aeroplane and it’s got that amount of sway, it’s just, just nuts man. Absolutely nuts.”
“It’s like you’re in a washing machine.”
