A woman in Thailand bought a cash bouquet adorned with money worth about 53,550 baht (or SGD $2,000) for her boyfriend as a gift to celebrate his graduation.
However, her boyfriend never received the gift because it got stolen by the delivery driver.
25-year-old Ms Sunitra Boonyaem bought a cash bouquet, which consisted of a bouquet of flowers adorned with about $2,000 in cash.
The cash bouquet was scheduled to be delivered to her home in Samut Prakan on 20 February at about 8.30am, and the flower boutique sent her a notification that it had been picked up by a taxi driver.
She also received a link to track the delivery of the bouquet.
Things were going well and all appeared to be fine, as the delivery taxi approached her home, but the delivery was then marked delivered but she didn’t receive her item yet.
Sunitra then called the taxi driver, who claimed that someone else had picked up her parcel.
She asked the driver for a photo as proof of delivery, but the driver said that he didn’t take any photos before hanging up on her.
Sunitra’s boyfriend said that he didn’t know is girlfriend was going to surprise him with the cash bouquet and thought that he would be the only one surprising her that day as he was planning to propose to her.
When he proposed to her, she started crying and he thought she was crying because she was happy, but she later told him that the cash bouquet that she bought for him had been stolen.
A police report was then lodged but as there was no progress or developments in the case, Sunitra turned to social media for help.
The only information available about the taxi driver is that he is a 45-year-old man driving for Grab.
