SINGAPORE: USING FACE SHIELD INSTEAD OF MASK IS ALLOWED

According to MOH advisory (FAQs), surgical face masks are not the only protective gear that is allowed to be used when outdoors.

As per MOH Advisory:

Any mask including reusable masks, DIY masks or plastic face shields, offer adequate basic protection.

However plastic spit guards predominantly covering the mouth are not considered masks.

We should conserve surgical masks for those who need them the most, i.e. our healthcare workers, given the current global shortage of surgical masks
