Authorities in Thailand are still searching for a Singaporean man who vanished after his Thai girlfriend was found dead in a Bangkok condominium three months ago. Despite multiple leads and international alerts, the suspect remains at large—believed to be hiding across the border in Myanmar.
Woman Found Lifeless in Luxury Condo Bathroom
The tragic incident occurred on March 25, 2025. Proudphilas Paladon, a 30-year-old Thai woman from Khon Kaen province, was found naked and unresponsive in the bathroom of a unit on the 22nd floor of a high-end condominium near Sukhumvit Soi 39, Bangkok.
Her body was partially wrapped in cloth and a blue blanket, with her head covered. Bloodstains were found leading to the bathroom, and several personal belongings—including luxury watches and a designer handbag—were reportedly missing.
The discovery was made by a friend who had lost contact with Proudphilas and gained access to the unit with the help of building management. She told the police the room was unlocked, and the air conditioning had been left on.
Boyfriend Missing, CCTV Shows Suspicious Exit
Proudphilas had been living with her Singaporean boyfriend, Daniel Benjamin Goh Wei-en, for about two months. Security footage revealed that on March 23, the couple left their condo together. She returned alone that night, while Goh came back later in the early hours of March 24. He was then captured leaving the building with his belongings the following day, driving a black Mercedes-Benz registered under the name of a deceased Thai man.
The police have yet to classify the case as murder, pending full autopsy and toxicology results. Preliminary findings indicated the cause of death was acute heart failure, but bruising on the arms and face raised suspicions of foul play.
Suspected Hideout in Myanmar’s Tachileik
Investigations uncovered that Goh had travelled to Chiang Rai in northern Thailand and was believed to have crossed into Tachileik, a border town in Myanmar. Witnesses reported that he met with two unidentified men at a Bangkok hotel before heading north in an SUV.
Authorities suspect Goh used connections with Chinese associates in Tachileik to go underground. Proudphilas’s mother insists her daughter had been abused by Goh on several occasions and had even warned that if she ever went missing, he should be the primary suspect.
Police Appeal for Public Assistance
Thai police are working with Interpol and regional agencies to track Goh’s whereabouts. Anyone with information is urged to report it immediately. While no arrest has been made, police say the case remains open and active.
For now, Proudphilas’s family is left with grief, unanswered questions, and a painful wait for justice. The case continues to spark conversation in both Thailand and Singapore about domestic violence, cross-border fugitives, and accountability.
