In a touching turn of events, a 30-year-old Vietnamese single mother, Nguyen Thi Hai Yen, lost her wallet during a family outing with her 18-month-old daughter on a Tuesday night.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, after she had lost her wallet which contained more than $600 that was meant to pay for her rent and other daily expenses, she was down to her last $8 with a one-year-old child still to feed.
However, news of her predicament went viral online and then came an outpouring of support from kind donors who stepped in to help her financially, some even doing so anonymously.

Undeterred by the setback, Nguyen lodged a police report and turned to social media to spread the news about her lost wallet. With her last $8, she printed five posters, hoping for a stroke of luck in finding her lost belongings.
