Singapore TikTok user Shannon Taylor shared a video of herself and her friend crying because they saw old people eating alone by themselves at a restaurant in Tokyo.

Shannon captioned her video, “POV: You put two empaths together in a restaurant full of old people eating alone”.
The two friends were seen sniffling in between sobs as they panned the camera towards the other elderly diners, who were minding their own business and eating.
Speaking to AsiaOne, Shannon said that she often finds herself feeling sad whenever she sees old people sitting alone back in Singapore.
She said that she feels “extremely heartbroken” because it reminds her of her late-grandfather, who passed away last year.
