A Singaporean man shared online that he rode his motorbike to Johor and parked his vehicle at the carpark of a shopping mall in the morning at about 11am.
However, when he returned to his vehicle at about 7pm, he found that his front brake cables had allegedly been cut away and the calipers gone.
He lamented on his post about the criminal activity taking place in broad daylight ever since the border reopened.
The man then urged other people to be careful and aware of situations such as this, and to take precautions of their own.
The South Johor Bahru District Police Headquarters confirmed that they have received a police report on the incident and that they are investigating.
A netizen who is presumably from Malaysia, then commented that if Malaysia is so dangerous, the guy should just stay in Singapore because at least he would still have his Brembo (the motorbike’s brake calipers).
Others commented about his bike (which appeared to be a Ducati), asking “who would ride a Ducati to a shopping mall?”
Another netizen told him to get used to it and that if he’s scared, “just don’t come”.
