The Ministry of Transport (MOT) announced that about 600,000 Public transport Vouchers (PTVs) worth about $30 each will become available to households that are eligible.
The move is part of the 2021 PTV Exercise and is aimed at helping residents cope with the fare adjustment that went into effect on 26 December.
The vouchers can be used to top up fare cards and/or buy monthly concession passes for public transport.
The vouchers will be made available to households with a month income per person of not more than $1,600 and must be redeemed by 31 March 2021.
Eligible households can apply online from 10 January to 31 October; or at their local community centres from 14 February to 31 October.
Households that have previously received the vouchers need not apply, they will automatically receive their notification letters via post.
